* Most Vehicles
** Most vehicles, Includes up to 5 quarts of oil. Additional oil charged at $6 per additional quart. Price is for STP full synthetic Oil. For Mobile 1, the price is $60 for up to 5 quarts and $10 per additional quart.
*** Most vehicles. BG Engine Cleaning includes an oil change. This service will help remove the sludge and carbon from INSIDE the engine. A cleaning agent is put into
the engine, then the VVT solenoids are activated to ensure all the oil passages are cleaned. The cleaner is then drained with the oil and a fresh filter and new oil are installed! BG Decarbon Extreme! Is a procedure that is necessary on some GDI (Gasoline Direct Injected) engines due to excessive carbon buildup in the intake manifold and the valves. In some cases, this procedure must be performed twice and in the worst cases the intake must be removed and a manual “Sand Blasting” must be performed with crushed walnut shells. If the blaster is necessary, then the price will change and it is different for every car, but usually between $350 and $850.
I. This is simply a code scan and no actual diagnostic time is spent pinpointing the cause of the codes.
II. This is for most simple diagnostics. Most of the time, a check engine light or an ABS light is a simple thing that I can diagnose in under 20 minutes. If the repair is approved, then the diagnostic fee for a level II diagnosis will be credited as a discount. 95% of the vehicles that come to me for a diagnosis fit into this category.
III. Occasionally, a difficult diagnosis comes in from a car owner. If I have already spent 20 minutes and believe significantly more time will be needed to properly diagnose the vehicle, or if the vehicle has multiple unrelated issues that need to be diagnosed, then the price is $165 for up to 1.5 hours of time. Considering this means I had to spend significant time diagnosing this vehicle, this fee will NOT be credited as a discount unless the repair is over $1200 and approved.
IV. Level 4 diagnostics are the most difficult of all, and very rare. These are generally things like water damage, parasitic battery drains or issues where other people have been working on the vehicle and done something that makes the diagnosis more difficult. The first 1.5 hours is 165, after that it’s 165 per hour. I will get approval before continuing with a level 4 diagnostic.. Less that 1% of vehicles coming to me for a diagnosis fall into this category.
