SERVICES

* Most Vehicles

** Most vehicles, Includes up to 5 quarts of oil. Additional oil charged at $6 per additional quart. Price is for STP full synthetic Oil. For Mobile 1, the price is $60 for up to 5 quarts and $10 per additional quart.

*** Most vehicles. BG Engine Cleaning includes an oil change. This service will help remove the sludge and carbon from INSIDE the engine. A cleaning agent is put into
the engine, then the VVT solenoids are activated to ensure all the oil passages are cleaned. The cleaner is then drained with the oil and a fresh filter and new oil are installed! BG Decarbon Extreme! Is a procedure that is necessary on some GDI (Gasoline Direct Injected) engines due to excessive carbon buildup in the intake manifold and the valves. In some cases, this procedure must be performed twice and in the worst cases the intake must be removed and a manual “Sand Blasting” must be performed with crushed walnut shells. If the blaster is necessary, then the price will change and it is different for every car, but usually between $350 and $850.

I. This is simply a code scan and no actual diagnostic time is spent pinpointing the cause of the codes.

II. This is for most simple diagnostics. Most of the time, a check engine light or an ABS light is a simple thing that I can diagnose in under 20 minutes. If the repair is approved, then the diagnostic fee for a level II diagnosis will be credited as a discount. 95% of the vehicles that come to me for a diagnosis fit into this category.

III. Occasionally, a difficult diagnosis comes in from a car owner. If I have already spent 20 minutes and believe significantly more time will be needed to properly diagnose the vehicle, or if the vehicle has multiple unrelated issues that need to be diagnosed, then the price is $165 for up to 1.5 hours of time. Considering this means I had to spend significant time diagnosing this vehicle, this fee will NOT be credited as a discount unless the repair is over $1200 and approved.

IV. Level 4 diagnostics are the most difficult of all, and very rare. These are generally things like water damage, parasitic battery drains or issues where other people have been working on the vehicle and done something that makes the diagnosis more difficult. The first 1.5 hours is 165, after that it’s 165 per hour. I will get approval before continuing with a level 4 diagnostic.. Less that 1% of vehicles coming to me for a diagnosis fall into this category.

Our professionals know how to handle a wide range of car services. Whether you drive a passenger car or medium sized truck or SUV, our mechanics strive to ensure that your vehicle will be performing at its best.

BG SERVICES

I. BG Fuel Injection Cleaning

Cleaning your fuel injectors is very important. It should be done roughly every 15,000 to 30,000 miles depending on the engine. Although all engines need to be cleaned regularly, GDI (Gasoline Direct Injected) engines are very prone to dirty injectors, valves and a throttle plate. This service cleans all of those. GDI engines should be cleaned at shorter intervals than normal injected engines.

II. BG Batter Protection Service

Many vehicles are very prone to acid and corrosion build-up on the battery terminals and cables. This service not only cleans the corrosion, but puts protection on the cables ends that is much better than the cheap products you can buy at a dis-
count parts store. It is a very cheap peace of mind to keep your engine cranking over properly and remove some of the strain from your charging system.

III. BG Engine Cleaning

This BG service keeps the crankcase of your engine clean. The inside of your engine can develop sludge and hard carbon deposits from old oil, extended oil changes, high temperatures etc. This can cause poor oiling to important parts of your engine, but also can cause a check engine light with various codes for the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system. The VVT relies on precise quantities of oil and oil pressure. The BG Chemical will dissolve the sludge and even the hard carbon deposits. This
is a service that I recommend every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. However, once again, GDI engines are very prone to problems and should be cleaned more frequently.

DIAGNOSTICS

As stated in on the page about me, I specialize in diagnostic work and spend many hours learning about new systems and developing new ways to test these systems accurately. I take diagnostic work very seriously and pride myself on an extremely high rate of accurate diagnosis.

Level I Diagnostic

This is a free service I offer to my customers. It is not truly a diagnosis, but rather a code scan. I will connect a scan tool, scan the car and give you a list of the codes. Although many shops will take these codes and immediately start loading the “Parts Shotgun” and throwing parts at the car, I know that these codes require pinpoint tests to locate the exact cause of the code. If a customer requests a repair based on the codes alone and refuses any real testing, then I cannot guarantee the parts replaced will solve the issue.

Level II Diagnostic

95% of all vehicles will fall into this category. I will usually be able to diagnose the car in 20 minutes or less. There are some exceptions, such as evaporative emissions leaks, that will require more time. I only charge $50 to perform this service as long as I spend less than 20 minutes diagnosing the issue. If the customer approves the repair after I have diagnosed it, then I will credit the $50 on the final invoice, making it effectively free.

Level III Diagnostic

Occasionally, a more difficult problem will come through my door. Things like evaporative emissions leaks or network failures on the communication lines between the various computers on your vehicle. $165 will include up to 1.5 hours of high level diagnostic work using the best of my diagnostic equipment. Because these diagnostics take so much of my time, I do NOT credit these on the final invoice unless more than $1200 of work is approved.

Level IV Diagnostic

Level 4 diagnostics are extremely rare when I am dealing with the car owner. These usually only happen under extreme circumstances such as lightning strikes , water damage, or battery drains on European vehicles such as BMW, Mercedes, Volo to give some examples.
